Spider Web art

I don't usually take pictures of spider webs, I'm too busy brushing them off my face, out of my hair, and then searching for any spiders on me. But, this one was too neat to pass up. I did have to destroy it so I could get to my barbecue grill, but it was back the next day. I have yet to see the spider who makes it.

Same web in black and white.

  1. I love spider web art - I take pictures whenever I can. I especially love them when there is dew and the sun sparkles on it. I know someone that would put spray glue on a wooden plaque, painted black, and then center the dry spider web on it and push - sticking the spider web to the plaque. Then he would spray some sort of clearn varnish on it - wow, was it beautiful!!!

I've made greeting cards with photos of really good spider webs. Did you know that spiders were once called Cobs? That is where we get the word cobwebs - which, when they are in the house, I like to call slobwebs.

  2. I didn't know that's where the word cobweb came from, thanks for the lesson :) I've seen directions for mounting spider webs onto a black surface but haven't tried it.
