My favorite thing in bloom today

My weeping cherry tree is my favorite thing in bloom this week. When you stand under it, you can hear the humming of the happy bees

The heather is also looking nice right now.

And so is the Lungwort.

Who needs flower gardens when your lawn looks like this. Gasp... I heard all the lawn fanatics gasping with shock. I don't care if there are "weeds" in my lawn, just don't show up in my gardens.

  1. You mention the hum of happy bees... I was at camp today and we didn't hear any humming- but we heard bomber-jet like droning of enormous bumblebees! They were all over the lilacs and could be heard from the other side of the street!

  2. Yes, I guess it is more like a bomber-jet. The bees out right now are huge! We need the honey bees to come out.

  3. Hi Bonnie - what are those little purple flowers in your last picture?

  4. I don't know what they are, Heather. The plants are very tiny and fine. Height is about 2-3" and they spread kind of like creeping Thyme. They disappear in the lawn when they're done flowering.

  5. Your weeping cherry tree is gorgeous, but I'm most impressed with your lawn photo! How lucky you are! If you have no objection, I'd like to feature your blog in my sidebar for a week -- I hope it brings you lots of new readers. :)

  6. Nancy, thank you for wanting to feature my blog. I'm all for it!! I cringe every spring when my husband mows the lawn for the first time and mows over all those pretty blue flowers.

  7. Wildflowers are some the prettiest and roughest flowers. I don't mind them in my yard either. Wow! Your Heather is so pretty and the Cherry blooms are gorgeous. So pretty Bonnie!

  8. Lovely, lovely flowers. I'm a big fan of lungworts. Yours looks very healthy and mildew free, unlike mine right this year. Hope the weather has started to behave itself by now.
